Course Description

Discover a new approach to painting through a tool already found in the studio - the palette knife! Whether an experienced painter or new to painting, students explore a variety of knife techniques with standard painting knives, putty knives and household materials that have the ability to serve as palette knives. Instruction includes strategies to mark-making, layering and color application, and methods of control as a means to deepen the ability to manipulate the surface of the painting, whether working through abstraction or representation.
