Course Description

With endless possibilities in color, texture, and layering, artists of any background and experience can strengthen skills and apply their interests to the monoprinting process. Students learn both additive “direct painting” and subtractive “dark field” techniques to create unique artworks through layers of color. Emphasis is placed on experimentation as well as technique building through personalized guidance and hands-on experience with print shop equipment and tools. From inking a plate to pulling a print, students develop a strong foundation in monoprinting, but also in printmaking and art making as a whole. No prior printmaking experience required, enthusiasm encouraged.
