Course Description

Using a variety of traditional drawing media, participants learn to construct accurate depictions of three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface. Emphasis is placed on exploring figure-ground relationships and composition, developing light and shadow to represent form, practicing accurate measuring, and working to create coherent spatial depictions. These techniques of representational drawing, along with one-on-one guidance from the instructor, encourage the artist to look closely and find inspiration in the material world around them.
